Where does Nolan County debris go?
The City of Sweetwater runs the county's only Type 1 landfill at 5452 North I-20 Frontage Road, permit 50B in the regional plan, with a Recycling Center at 807 West Broadway. We found no separate county convenience station, so rural Nolan County loads end up on the Sweetwater scale.
Your bill uses that scale weight: $75 per ton over the included tons, by the exact pound. How weight is billed. Sources: City of Sweetwater, Refuse Collection & Disposal; WCTCOG plan Table III.C.I, checked Oct 22, 2026.
Who collects trash in Sweetwater and Roscoe?
Republic Services is the contracted hauler in Sweetwater, and the regional plan lists Republic for Roscoe too. We found no published rule in either town that reserves roll-off containers to that hauler, and Sweetwater's permits page lists no dumpster permit. We still confirm in-town addresses on the call.

What makes Nolan County jobs different?
Wind shapes the work in Nolan County. The county has more than 1,500 MW of installed wind capacity, and the Roscoe Wind Farm's 627 turbines made it the world's largest when completed. On April 1, 2024, thunderstorm winds blew down power poles in Sweetwater and Roscoe.
Open ground means hard wind, so cover loose loads and keep light debris under heavy pieces. Sweetwater also recalls the April 19, 1986 tornado on its south side, and a January 2026 ice storm left some streets temporarily impassable. See how to load a dumpster so nothing blows out.

Nolan County dumpster questions
Can you put a dumpster on a lease road near Roscoe?
Lease and ranch roads work when they are dry, firm and wide enough for a roll-off truck. Tell us about gates and the last mile of road surface when you book.
What size works for a ranch house cleanout in Nolan County?
A ranch house with outbuildings usually needs a 20-yard dumpster, which holds about 8 pickup loads and includes 3 tons. Old tires and appliances with Freon add $50 each.
Do wind gusts change how I load the dumpster?
Wind lifts insulation, foam and cardboard out of an open box. Put heavy debris on top of light material, keep the load level with the rim, and tarp it overnight.
Does Oak Creek Reservoir count as Nolan County service?
Oak Creek Reservoir, owned by the City of Sweetwater, lies just over the line in Coke County near Blackwell. Cabins there are in our range too; see our Coke County page for that area.
