Who collects trash in Fisher County?
The regional solid waste plan lists Allied Waste, part of Republic Services, as Roby's collection and disposal provider. Rotan isn't listed in that table. We found no published rule in either town that limits private roll-offs, so we confirm in-town addresses on the call.
The same plan lists no Type 1 landfill in Fisher County, so roll-off loads are hauled out of the county to a permitted landfill and weighed there. Your invoice carries that scale ticket. Source: WCTCOG Regional Solid Waste Plan, Vol. II, Tables III.H.I and III.C.I.
What storms hit Fisher County?
Fisher County sees some of the region's strongest wind. On June 21, 2023, a 95 mph gust was recorded five miles west of Rotan, with wind damage in Rotan and Roby. Golf ball-size hail fell at Rotan on April 13, 2026, and 1 to 2 inch hail hit the county on April 8, 2024.
Wind-torn metal roofs, barns and fences are bulky; hail-damaged shingle roofs are heavy. Most fit a 20-yard or 30-yard dumpster. See the roofing size chart.

What should you expect from older Roby and Rotan buildings?
Roby incorporated in 1915 and Rotan in 1909, and both towns grew around farming, gypsum and oil. Many houses and stores date from those decades, with plaster walls, heavy flooring and stacked roof layers. Those materials weigh far more than modern drywall, so older-building jobs are sized by weight.
Fisher County dumpster questions
What size dumpster fits a farmhouse cleanout near Rotan?
A farmhouse with a few outbuildings usually fills a 20-yard dumpster, which holds about 8 pickup loads and includes 3 tons. If scrap metal or old concrete is in the mix, mention it so we can size for weight.
Can the truck reach a dirt farm road?
A dry, firm farm road usually works. After heavy rain, soft roads can stop a loaded truck, so tell us about recent rain when you book.
Can gypsum board scraps go in the dumpster?
Drywall and gypsum board scraps are normal roll-off debris. Wet gypsum gets heavy, so keep the load covered and size for weight on a big tear-out.
How will I know what I owe for weight?
The landfill scale ticket comes attached to your invoice 3 to 5 business days after pickup. Weight over the included tons is $75 per ton, charged by the exact pound.
