What does the Ranger Collection Station refuse?
The Ranger Collection Station at 1432 Garrett Street refuses tires, shingles, microwaves, wire, medical and hazardous waste. It takes cardboard, brush, clean lumber, scrap metal, trash and large appliances, with residential fees from $25 a pickup load to $60 for a 20 to 30-foot trailer. Contractors pay double.
The station is open weekdays 8 to 5 by appointment at (254) 631-3079 and Saturdays 8 to 5. Source: City of Ranger Collection Station, checked Oct 21, 2026.
Why does a Ranger roof job need a roll-off?
A Ranger roof job needs a roll-off because the city collection station refuses shingles. One square of shingles weighs about 240 lb at 80 lb a bundle and 3 bundles a square, so a 25-square, one-layer roof is about 3 tons: a full 20-yard dumpster.
Use your own bundle weight in the roofing dumpster calculator. Over the included tons, weight is $75 per ton by the exact pound.

Shingles and tear-outs go in our box, not the station.

The City of Ranger runs its own water, sewer and sanitation service, with 96-gallon totes and 1.5 to 4-yard containers, plus bulk collection on the third Monday of each month. We found no published rule limiting private roll-offs; call City Hall at (254) 647-3522 if you want to confirm.

Ranger dumpster questions
Where can I get rid of tires in Ranger?
The collection station refuses tires except during tire events; a WCTCOG tire trailer was set there from May 13, 2026 for residents' passenger and light-truck tires off the rim. Otherwise, tires go in our dumpster for $50 each.
Is a roll-off cheaper than trailer loads at double contractor rates?
For a crew, several trailer runs at double rates add up quickly, plus the drive time. Call for the base price on the size you need and compare it with your trip count.
Can scrap metal go in your dumpster?
Scrap metal can go in a roll-off. The collection station also takes scrap metal, so a few pieces may be easier to drop there.
Do I need to be home for delivery in Ranger?
You don't need to be home if the spot is clear. The driver texts or calls 20 to 30 minutes ahead to confirm placement.
Does Ranger's bulk collection or station fee beat a dumpster?
Ranger's monthly bulk collection runs on the third Monday, and you call City Hall ahead to be listed. At the collection station, residential loads cost $25 for a pickup up to $60 for a 20 to 30-foot trailer, and contractors pay double. For a few items, those work; for a remodel or roof, a roll-off wins.
Shingles can't go to the station at all, and every trailer run costs time. One dumpster on your driveway takes the whole job to the scale, with the ticket attached to your invoice. Sources: City of Ranger utilities and collection station, checked Oct 22, 2026.
How did the 2022 wildfires change cleanup in Ranger?
The Eastland Complex wildfires of March 17–18, 2022 burned about 45,383 acres and destroyed Ranger's 103-year-old Second Baptist Church. Fire-damaged buildings, fences and outbuildings around Ranger still come down in phases, and burned debris is heavy, so size those jobs by weight rather than by volume.
Charred framing and roofing usually fit a 30-yard dumpster with 4 tons included; a full structure demolition may suit the 40-yard, with its tons set on your quote. Source: CBS Texas, March 2022.
